With umpteen numbers of brands available in the baby care niche, a new mom is left perplexed and spoilt for choice. Although it is always good to have options, choosing an appropriate one for your baby can be quiet a task. After my baby was born, in the quest to provide the best and safest to my baby I found myself browsing baby care brands and products. I could not rely on ‘trial and error’ method here. There was no way I wanted to put my baby’s skin at risk. An Indian brand that caught my attention was Himalaya. Himalaya, has been one of my favorite brands for skincare because of its natural ingredients and low or no chemical content. After my research, I began using Himalaya Baby Soap, Himalaya Baby Powder and Himalaya Baby Wipes.
In this post I share with you what I think of the Himalaya Refreshing Baby Soap.
Watermelon, Khus Grass and Neem
Himalaya Refreshing Baby Soap claims to be a natural cleanser for baby’s soft and supple skin. The ingredients are natural and are chosen in accordance with the need of a baby’s skin. Watermelon keeps the skin cool and fresh. Khus Grass has antiperspirant and astringent properties, that help keep the skin dry throughout the day. Neem, is an Ayurvedic herb know for its remedial, antibacterial and antiseptic properties. It helps keep skin ailments at bay.
The cooling agents in the soap claim to soothe the baby’s skin in summers and treat problems like prickly heat.
This mommy says
The soap is white in color and is packaged in a plastic cover followed by a cardboard box. I like the fact that it is packed in a plastic cover which helps keep the soap clean and safe unless it reaches the user. But I found the outer box slightly fragile.
The soap has a peculiar baby soap smell. The fragrance is extremely mild and pleasant. Also the aroma does not stay on the body for too long. The fragrance fades away within a few minutes.
Using it on my baby
Using the Himalaya Refreshing Baby Soap is extremely simple and hassle free. The soap lathers well and the texture is smooth and creamy. The soap does have a cooling effect on the baby’s skin. After use, the skin feels soft and clean. I used it for bathing my baby throughout the summers along with Himalaya Prickly Heat Powder and did not experience any kind of rashes or other skin problems.
Cost and Availability
The price and its availability are one of the key attractions of this product. The soap can easily be bought from any chemists, supermarkets, baby care stores in your vicinity. They are also available online on several websites.
The soap is very reasonably priced and is worth every penny spent on it. It is available in two sizes
75 gms bar costs INR 40
125 gms bar costs INR 60
My experience with the soap has been pleasant. The natural ingredients and a unique blend of cooling and soothing agents in this soap allure me to choose it over other products. It fulfils every claim that it makes.
