With a lot of ‘ifs and buts’ and ‘should I or should I not’ surrounding the use of diapers, I am the kind who believes disposable diapers are a boon for new moms. I have used cloth langots with liners and disposable diapers for my little one since birth. Though diapers make a mom’s life easy and convenient but bring with them the terrifying diaper rashes. Every mom at some point has been horrified by that unwanted redness on her baby’s soft and tender skin. My baby and I weren’t spared of diaper rash worries either. We experienced it when my baby was about a month old, since then a few diapering precautions top my baby care routine and we have been lucky to have never faced it again. A good diaper rash cream is vital for curing and preventing diaper rashes in babies. In this post I share with you what I think of the diaper rash cream that I use.
I had received a gift pack of Himalaya products from a close friend at the naming ceremony of my baby. When I noticed redness around the buttocks of my baby I immediately reached out to the diaper rash cream in the gift hamper.
Himalaya diaper rash cream claims to be a natural formula for soothing the redness and rashes caused by rubbing of diaper against baby’s skin. It claims to treat and heal inflammation and irritation occurring in babies due to the use of diapers.
Himalaya as a brand attracts me because the ingredients are natural and herbal. There are very less chances of allergies, reactions and side effects. The Himalaya diaper rash cream consists of
Natural Zinc – that keeps the skin dry and has antiseptic and astringent properties. Almond Oil – which is the best natural Moisturizer for the baby’s skin. Aloe Vera – soothes and moisturizes baby’s skin. It acts as an antibacterial agent and an astringent, which accelerate the healing of baby’s skin.Five-Leaved Chaste – Tree contains anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is useful in the treatment of sores and skin infections.
The ingredients of the rash cream appear to be a perfect amalgamation of herbs and natural products.
The diaper rash cream is packed in a cardboard box at the time of purchase. The cream comes in a cream and white tube. The packaging is portable and leak-proof. The cream has now made a permanent place in my diaper bag.
Price and Availability
The best advantages of using Himalaya products is its reasonable price and easy availability. The diaper rash cream costs INR 55 for 20gms and INR 95 for 50gms.
How to use
The Himalaya diaper rash cream is white in color and creamy in texture. The consistency of the product allows convenient application and easy absorption. For best results you have to apply a thin layer of the cream all around the baby’s skin that rubs against the diaper. Each time you change your baby’s diaper, wipe the skin using a baby wipe, allow the skin to dry and reapply a thin coat of the Himalaya diaper rash cream.
My experience with the Himalaya diaper rash cream has been very satisfying. I began using it as a cure for my baby’s rashes, but have continued to use it on a regular basis as a preventive measure to avoid rashes. It fulfills every claim that it makes. I highly recommend this product to mums for their little and soft babies.
