I was in Junior Collage when straightening was a recent fad. It became a favourite among both men and women in no time. Not only is straight hair the perfect no-fuss style for off-duty days and for work, as it makes troublesome tresses a good deal more manageable, but it is also popular with celebrities which makes it a style statement.
Now, I fell prey to the temptation to get my hair straightened five years ago. It felt blissful, wash and wear hair felt like a dream. Blaahhh.. a few months later, half my hair were straight and the remaining half curly. Definitely, not how I’d like my hair. I had to opt for straightening treatment almost every year thereafter. Felt more like vicious web.
While being able to straighten your hair (permanently or temporarily) at whim does sound like a blessing, it can also be very dangerous to the overall health of your hair. All dermatologists recommend that you don’t straighten you hair due to all the chemical involved in the process. Also, considering the Indian climate and the pollutants in the environment, this could mean turning bald sooner than expected.
So what is the way out? Spending time on my hair everyday with a baby around is not a possibility.
Hair Taming Treatment – A New Wave
This time around, I decide to try the Keratin Treatment or hair taming instead of permanent straightening. This procedure infuses proteins into your dull and damaged hair making them frizz free and lustrous naturally. Now this sounded like a better option. I opted for the Hair Taming Treatment by GK Hair India
GK Hair is the first and the only company to harness the beauty benefit of Juvexin, which is delivered to the hair in its natural state Juvexin is a keratin anti-aging protein blend.
The most revolutionary development in hair care in the past 50 years. It started with keratin, and then evolved to Juvexin.
Three Step Procedure :
The treatment began with a hair wash for which they used a shampoo by GK Hair. The shampoo was left in for a while to open the cuticles of the hair.
After the wash my hair was dried and the product was applied all over my hair. It was left it to infuse into my hair my about 30 to 40 minutes.
Thereafter my hair was blow dried and ironed with the cremè on it.
A wash and rinse later, I was good to go!
It took half as much time as permanent straightening would.
As opposed to chemical treatments that damage your hair, hair taming treatment makes your hair healthy. It infuses proteins back into your hair. What I like about this treatment is that you don’t have to damages or transform the original structure of your hair.
After three washes my hair looks just the way it did the day I got the treatment done. According to the stylist, It is likely to stay this way atleast for four to five months.
I will recommend this treatment if you have frizzy hair or have chemically treated your hair in the past.
As far as the pricing goes, like other hair treatments this one isn’t inexpensive either.
Who made the magical transformation possible?
I have had two terrible experiences when getting a hair treatment done. At one of them my hair was literally burnt. Since then I am finicky when choosing a salon for me. Also this time I decided to get Taming treament done and GK hair treatments are available only at a select hair salons.
For this treatment, I chose a popular salon Tress Talk
