I have never missed getting drenched in the first rains ever since I knew what rains were. As soon as I’d come home, my mother would simmer good old cup of tea with leaves of Tulsi plucked from our Tulsi plant in the backyard. Incase, I did ever catch a cold, her home-made Kadha would come to my rescue. My mother firmly believed in the magic of nature and just like she got it from her mom, I inherited this love and faith in nature from her.
But I am a mother of today, I am not sure if the herb that our forefathers consumed and benefited from are still available to our generation in the purest form. And that’s where the need for science steps in.
I recently attended a bloggers meet organised by Amway to bring to our knowledge how they have amalgamated the goodness of natural herbs, ancient traditional wisdom and the best of scientific processes to offer a comprehensive range of nutraceutical product supplements with physiological benefits.
Before I talk about the new Nutrilite Traditional Herbs Range, let me share with you a little about Amway.
About Amway
I haven’t met a single person who wouldn’t have heard of Amway. Amway is synonymous with supreme quality products that are efficient and effective. My family is an Amway loyalist. Glister toothpaste, Attitude Foot Cream, S8 detergent, and skin care range from Artistry are my absolute favourites.
The Nutrilite range under the umbrella of Amway, provides a range of vitamins and dietary supplements to millions of people across the globe. And now Nutralite has proved into the wisdom of ancient Indian science of Ayurveda to bring us a new range of products.
Nutrilite Traditional Herbs Range
The Nutrilite Traditional Herbs range comprises of 4 products including:
- Nutrilite Tulsi
- Nutrilite Brahmi
- Nutrilite Ashwagandha
- Nutrilite Amalaki, Vibhitaki, and Haritaki.
Priced at INR 649 inclusive of all taxes, for a bottle of 60 tablets for each variant, the new range is compliant to the new Nutraceuticals Regulations i.e. The Food Safety and Standards (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purpose, Functional Food and Novel Food) Regulations, 2016 (‘Regulations’), issued by Food Safety Standard Authority of India (FSSAI).
Tulsi – Tulsi has been used in many Indian households since time immemorial. Infact it is considered to be holy and sacred. Tulsi is a natural anti-oxidant and is known to strengthen immunity. Each tablet of Nutralite Tulsi has the goodness of almost 100 tulsi leaves. When I heard this, I was truly impressed and knew it right then, I was going to start consuming these.
Brahmi – Through out my childhood, I had a tonic made of Brahmi herbs on my kitchen shelf. My mother would give me a spoonful of it without missing a day. Brahmi is well know for the effects it has on our brain. It is said to improve the mental agility, concentration, and alertness. Brahmi oil is also popular for improving the texture of hair.
Ashwagandha – The roots of Ashwagandha are known all over the world because of the health benefits they offer. These beloved roots have become one of the most popular herbs of the western world. Ashwagandha is known to help the body resist physiological and psychological stress. It calms the nervous system and improves the functionality of the body.
Amalaki, Vibhitaki, and Haritaki – If you haven’t heard of these names before, you must have definitely heard of Triphala. Triphala means three fruits and those three fruits are – Amalaki, Vibhitaki, and Haritaki. These fruits are known to aid the digestive system. They reduce hyperacidity and support digestion.
Now that we have discussed the significance and the magical powers these traditional herbs possess. Why should we consume them in the form of Nutrilite tablets?
Because as mentioned earlier, finding these herbs in their purest form, in the world of Today is questionable.
At the event organised by Amway, Ajay Khanna, the Category Head of Amway’s Health and Wellness vertical in India, pointed out that Amway does not believe in “saying is enough” philosophy. That’s why, the company develops all its products through a “seed to supplement” process. This stringent process comprises of a multi-level quality checks ensuring the selection of the right farm, the right part, the right active ingredient, the right seeds, the right extraction, the right process, to finally arrive at the right product.
In addition to “seed to supplement” Amway Nutrilite also follows the key principles of Purity, Safety and Potency
Purity – The herbs that are used for manufacturing Nutrilite products are only sourced from farms that are OneCert Asia Agri Certification Pvt. Ltd. certified.
They also undertake a process called DNA fingerprinting of herbs. This process involves identifying the best plants by examining the genetic make up of a plant at the molecular level. This also helps to ensure that are herbs are free from contamination or adulteration
Safety – Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at the manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu for all the Nutrilite dietary nutraceuticals to ensure the safety, proper identification, and highest quality of the products. The research and development processes are strictly quality controlled. This plant is also LEED Gold Certified.
Potency –
• Non-GMO Range: The herbal supplements are prepared from certified non-GMO sources to prevent any unknown health hazards and it ensures safety
• Active Ingredient/ Constituents: The quality and efficacy of Nutrilite’s new range lies in its high concentration of beneficial active ingredient/s which are extracted right from the herbs. This makes the quality of Traditional Herbs range truly premium.
The new range of Amway Nutrilite traditional herbs is armed with the goodness of traditional wisdom and modern science. These have been designed to cater to common lifestyle afflictions.
The recommended dose for these tablets is 1 or 2 tablets per day along with a healthy well-balanced diet.
I have been consuming these tablets for almost a month now. I have noticed a significant improvement in acidity and indigestion problems.
