“Makeup is a way for a woman to look and feel like herself only prettier and more confident”
Being a makeup lover myself, eyeliners lipsticks and mascara have been my favourites since I was a young teen. #Nojudgementsplease!
I think whether or not to wear makeup is a personal choice and should be left at just that.
Okay, bouncing back on topic, having said I love makeup, I dislike putting layers of it and I am rather poor at skills like “contouring”, “storbing” and “colour correcting”.
And since I became a mom, getting makeup within minutes has been my thing. I prefer to wear foundations that help retain the individuality of my skin and yet provide a clean and unified skin tone.
In this post, I am am sharing my review of four foundations from four different luxury brands:
#1 Bobbi Brown Stick Foundation
When Bobbi Brown was only recently launched in India, I knew I wanted to try it out. It’s been almost three years and I have been consistently buying new sticks of this foundation even before the existing one is exhausted.
The stick foundation is convenient to use, swipe the stick over your face, belnd it well and your foundation is done within minutes.
It does give you full coverage and minimises the need to use concealers or correctors. It gives a beautiful semi-matte finish that looks like natural skin. It does not look greasy or caked on the face. Since it is a stick foundation you need to moisture your skin well before application, otherwise it grabs on to the flakes on the skin.

#2 Clinique Superbalanced make up
What really attracted me to this foundation was that it claims to have a unique quality of hydrating the skin where it needs moisture and controlling oil at the greasy areas. This foundation is Oil-free, non acnegenic and sweat-proof.
I like the fact that this foundation is extremely lightweight and has the perfect texture. It’s is a great choice for ones who have a combination skin. It does not look either too greasy or too flakey. It gives sheer to medium coverage. It does not hide dark patches or blemish marks but is good to cover up minor imperfections. It is available in 22 shades to choose from which makes getting a shade closest to your skin more likely.
This one applies smoothly and stays for really really long. A pump or a nozzle would have made usage a tad convenient though.

#3 MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
I prefer liquid foundations over compact powders. One of the artists at the MAC store suggested me to try this out. Inspite of being really skeptical I bought this one on her suggestion. I was pleasantly surprised with the coverage this powder offered. The texture is so fine that it blends into your skin without looking powdery or cakey. I works just fine by itself without a base foundation or a moisturiser, however you can choose to apply one depending on your skin type.
What I like about MAC studio fix powder is that it looks really light on your face. It lasts as long as 8 to 9 hours and does not wear off like heavy foundations. If you are looking at a foundation option that is light, gives full matte coverage and lasts long this one is a great choice.

#4 ESTEE LAUDER
Double Wear Maximum Cover Camouflage Make Up For Face And Body SPF 15
During my pregnancy, I was looking for a foundation that would give full (I mean literally heavy) coverage. My skin had gone for a toss during pregnancy, I had severe acne and dark patches. After reading a few reviews I splurged and bought this one. I fell in love with the Blue and gold tube.
Now since it’s a maximum coverage foundation it is very heavy and creamy in texture. You need to use a good moisturiser or primer to ensure smooth application. It works great if you have acne marks, blemishes and pigmentation and would want to cover them in a fewer steps. It is expensive, but lasts really really long, since you only need a wee bit at every application.
